Reflections

Author's Note:
This is my abstract piece as if I had wrote an essay on The Yellow Wallpaper.  I have never written an abstract before and would appreciate comments!

The essay I wrote was titled, “Reflections”, based on the short story The Yellow Wallpaper. This essay proved that the woman in The Yellow Wallpaper was severely mentally ill, and believed she was repetitively seeing a woman in the wallpaper; when actually it was her reflection. ”Reflections” proved that there could in fact have been a mirror, revealing all that was behind the woman, including daylight, possibility, and color. But this mirror also forced the woman to stare at her limp body for hours on end. The constant repetition in the woman’s life is what drove her insane and “Reflections” also included that the reader should not express sympathy for the woman, because her disease caused her to be a victim of the times, and nothing more.  To conclude, "Reflections", proved to show that the possibility of a mirror being in front of the woman, driving her to insanity, was highly probable.
