My Locker

I broke a pencil
And two of my pens
I lost a notebook
That I was lent

I found a book
But it's not mine
A broken watch?
No way to tell time

A folder blue
Next to the turquoise
Crumpled up papers
And lots of small toys

Half of a scissors
A marker, no cap
A worn out glue stick
And a bright yellow tack

Stubbed my finger
It really hurt
I even found
A pile of dirt

Cracked screen on
My calculator
J Biebs poster?
I really hate her

My math book
Lost it's cover
How'd that happen?
Hmm, I wonder

A shivering ice pack
Cold as a rock, burr
Amazing how this all
Took place in my locker

Summer

Flowers are blooming
Colors are arising
And grass has grown up from the ground
Beaches are crowded
Long sleeves? I doubt it
Searching for sun now is found

Water is a plenty
Children are a many
Enjoying happiness under the sun
Umbrellas for shade
And a sweet summer date
Is just the beginning of fun

Frozen food is a must
With sprinkles and lust
But wait! That's just the beginning
Swim suits are pulled out
With flip flops about
To get ready to go and go swimming

Three months of vacation
No time to be wastin'
For school starts up back in the fall
No time for the slopping
So time to get shopping
We're right down the street from the mall

Jumping for June
For sure! Seen you soon
But wait we still have July
August is here waiting
Flings are a dating
And no one is wondering why

Let's get to what we said
No time like the present
Come on, let's do something with it
Build sand-men and reindeer
Being children all queer
And reach and push to our limits

Only one last thing
For joy to bring
Of our marvelous wonder
 Is for someone to say
What a great day!
So that we can enjoy our summer

Before you Awoke

When I was sleeping
I had a very odd dream
You'd think it's a nightmare
The way I would scream

Stranded and alone
So solemnly sitting
Waiting for someone to come
Someone so witty

But yet and alas
I am here yet again
With no one along
Not a single friend

When I was sleeping
I had a very odd dream
You'd think it's a nightmare
The way I would scream

Abandoned and freed
Deserted alone
Just waiting to wake
Wanting to come home

 But this life I live
Dearly and dirt broke
Was all just a dream
Before I awoke

One, Two, Three, Go

One, two, three, go
Start of running
Sprinting
Faster

One, two, three, go
Tell no one where
Just run
Go

One, two, three, go
We'll miss you
Goodbye
Leave

One, two, three, go
No need for sad
Tears in your
Eyes

One, two, three, go
See you soon
Come back
I hope

One, two, three, go
You are not alone
Frightened
Go

One, two, three, go
I'll be there in a
Day or two
Soon

One, two, three, go
I'm coming, I left
I'm coming
For you

One, two, three, go
I am almost there
Can you see me
Yet

One, two, three, go
I am here for you
I always have
Always am

One, two, three, stay
We are here,
Together
Free

Like sand-men and reindeer

Time to get going
For fun is not knowing
In playing and jumping so dear
Now watch out
Don't back out
Because summer is finally here!

Lost

Author's Note:
This is a poem/renewal of Panic! at the Disco's Sarah Smiles

I was fine just a girl living on my own,
Not even turning on my phone
Then you called and changed my tone
Oh;

Ruby lips and the eyes that pull me in,
We both know you've already win
Playing me just like a sin,
Then,

You fooled me once, wasted my time now honey,
You fooled me twice with your lies, took my money

Oh he smiles like oh he doesn't care,
He lives in a world so unaware,
Does he know that my destiny lies with him

Trying not to enjoy your kiss
Before you were on your way
They
Tried to tell me that you wouldn't stay
Even then you left and went your own way,

I don't mind, take your time, I got things to do,
Besides sitting here waiting for you,
But I wish that you don't too,
You,

You fooled me once, wasted my time now honey,
You fooled me twice, with your lies, took my money

Oh hey smiles like oh he doesn't care,
He lives in his world so unaware,
Does he know that my destiny lies with him,

Don't you know you are killing me inside
Just taking all my time,
Forgetting you was right
To take back all my pride
You left me astray, but I say

Oh he smiles like oh he doesn't care,
He lives in his world so unaware,
How can he even live, when my destiny lies with him?

Stand Out

Be yourself and don't change
In this world you can win it
Shoot far the stars
Cuz' the sky is the limit

Dreams: they aren't far
But you still have to try
Never second guess
And never wonder why

Don't let where you come from
Decide where you'll go
Reach for goals
If you don't, you'll never know

Be true to your thoughts
In a planet filled with plastics
Come up when you fail
If you don't you can pass this

Think about your heart
And what you'll live without
Be who you are
Come on and just stand out

Our Love

Author's Note:
This is a poem that was inspired by Demi Lovato's My Love's Like a Star

Our love's like a home
I know where to go, to come back to us
Our love's like a penny
It may be small, but it's just enough

Our love's like a star
You can't always see it, but you know it's there
Our love's like a mother
You don't always know it, but they always care

Our love's like a comet
It burns bright in the moment, but then it's gone
Our love's like a child
Happy and playful, but on their own

Our love's like a tower
Sturdy and strong, overlooking all
Our love's like a dancer
Moving in air, and will never fall

Our love's like a kingdom
And we're in the palace, where we belong
Our love's like an artist
Singing a verse, to our favorite song

Our love's like a story
Just from the beginning, continuing on
Our love's like a puppet
Where we hold the strings, for every pawn

Our love's like a danger
Without any caution, together we'll fall
Our love's like a faith
You just have to believe, to have it all

Dark

Not looking out of a window
In fear of what you think you'll see
Not walking by yourself out side
In fear of who you might meet

Not turning off all of the lights
In fear of what you might find
Not creaking down your basement steps
When it is close to night time

Not listening to your rational thoughts
In fear ghosts may be real
Not doing these petty attempts
By some inner, type of feel

Not letting one toe escape your blanket
In fear of someone else is near
Letting your self be afraid
When what scares you is your fear

When nothing is to see
You're scared from your head, down to your heart
And even the most rational mind
Can play tricks on you in the dark

Ignorance

Author's Note:
This is an essay about how everyone alive is ignorant to some extent.

How would you define ignorance? Would it be being naive, being arrogant, or having down-right stupidity?  Every day we see people we never even knew existed; they drive down streets, talk on pay-phones, and at some point, they are going to endure their ways into our lives.  But how much about other people or places do we really care about?  Our immediate lack of knowledge, and no further pursuit to gain knowledge, is a mistake that we are burdened  to live with: this is our ignorance.  Every human being alive is burdened with ignorance to some extent, no matter who you are, what you are, or however old you are.

What would be your immediate reaction to an uncleanly, hooded African American walking down a busy street?   As much as we do not want to admit it, we think negatively about the subject, and do not wish to look further.  Maybe the man lost his job, therefore lost his home and has been unable to bathe for a week--our minds' inability to comprehend this at first sight is considered ignorance.  We want easy. We don't want questions, because questions lead to answers that need more questions.

Certain people are allowed to not have to answer these questions, such as parents.  A parent has the gift of permitted ignorance.  They do not always want to hear that there twelve year old daughter has a boyfriend, they do not want to hear that their child failed a math test, and they definitely do not want to hear their child's opinion.  Ever.  Their ignorance is accepted in our current society, but is still ignorance none the less.

The worst type of ignorance is sheer stupidity.  Someone who does not know something, and has no desire to learn it.  "Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity."  This quote, by Martin Luther King Jr., illustrates how hazardous stupidity can be.  The lowest minded people, the ones who will not open their minds up to suggestion and knowledge are the ones who frighten our world with unplanned ideas and overzealous thought of structure.   If our world was built off of lower minded people, we would be unable to grow off of mistakes, and learn from our past.  Stupidity is the worst kind of ignorance because not knowing is one thing, but not choosing to learn is a flat out mistake.

Ignorance.  How would you define it? Think: would you be able to be labeled with this title?  Every human being is, to an extent, ignorant.  No matter where you started or ended, grew up or grew old, we are ignorant.

Horse

Author's note:
This is a poem on how horses appear through my eyes. I know it's a little silly and really far from the truth, but I just do not like horses.

Galloping on down a path
Spreading off it's evil wrath
It spit and spat
And looked like that
And hurt more than doing math

It skipped right through my new gate
It hit me down and made me late
It ran down houses
It kicked my mouses
It made me really start to hate

This beast bucked and rawred
This creature jumped and soared
It flew and crashed
And stomped and mashed
I felt as though it was quite bored

Maybe I should feel it pity
I wish it was small like a kitty
But it left and sung
Till there was none
For it moved to another city

Echo

Author's Note:
This is a poem that I wrote trying to show how people remember all negatives that occur, but forget positives.  The domino effect of, if you did something one week, then one time the next, someone remembers that, but forgets all goodness you did in the 14 as well.

I wish my actions sounded louder
Than what I forgot to do
I wish my begging for forgiveness
Was something you could give into

I wish my words did not just melt on you
That they would come off strong
I wish that you would see when I was right
But no, I'm always wrong

I wish that my talents pushed ahead
Of what I cannot do
I wish that my absence in earlier years
Would make up for seeing you

I wish my silence of me so far
Didn't hold me up for who I am now
I wish you could see inside my heart
If only you knew how

Presenting

Your eyes do not know where to look
Your head is buzzing with nerves
You find your body shaking
Your legs are trembling
Your voice cracks
Your thoughts run away
Your fingers tap your sides
Your waist sways from side to side
Your mind forgets everything you knew

Seashells

Lying on the beach
Shining in the summer sun
Breaking under feet

Curiousity Killed the Dog

Author's Note: This is my prediction piece for The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time.

Losing your mother, a beloved pet, and your father's sense of urgency: all three of these factors have contributed, and will continue to contribute, to young Christopher's life.  Christopher has autism and is very logical and sees life in groups, patterns, numbers, sequences, and details.  He has always been kind and respectful and has yet to tell a lie.  These traits made it a very scheduled healing process after the loss of his mother, but now he must face the death of his neighbor's dog, Wellington.  But Wellington did not just die, he was murdered.  Christopher now wants to find who killed him, but I believe it will come at a cost.  Chris does not take direction well and won't let go of finding who did it, "[Christopher does] not take orders well]", and this constant sticking his nose into other people's lives will most likely come around to burn him.  The ongoing theme of loss in his life only leads me to believe that it will not be mild, but most likely a harsh awakening or punishment.  Lastly, his father's lack of sympathy and caring after Wellington died is remarkable.  "It's a bloody dog, Christopher, a bloody dog. Leave it."  Because of this quote that Christopher's dad said after discovering the dog's body, I believe that he was the one who murdered Wellington
