Not looking out of a
window
In fear of what you
think you'll see
Not walking by
yourself out side
In fear of who you
might meet
Not turning off all
of the lights
In fear of what you
might find
Not creaking down
your basement steps
When it is close to
night time
Not listening to
your rational thoughts
In fear ghosts may
be real
Not doing these
petty attempts
By some inner, type
of feel
Not letting one toe
escape your blanket
In fear of someone
else is near
Letting your self be
afraid
When what scares you
is your fear
When nothing is to see
You're scared from your head, down to your heart
And even the most
rational mind
Can play tricks on
you in the dark
