You laugh because I'm different, I laugh because you're the same.

Middle School

Author's Note:
This is a poem about struggles that us as middle schoolers have to deal with.

If someone were to ask me
The hardest part of middle school
I would think of many things
Like fitting in or being cool

But what about those petty fights
You have with your best friends
The ones you tend to take too far
And seem to never end

Or what about the work load
Of homework every night
Hours of papers due the next day
Working until the sun gives no more light

The pressures of parents to keep good grades
Start to get to you
And failing a test, cause you don't get it
Isn't something that you choose

Or maybe even awkward moments
The ones you wish were rushed
Like when you find out your best friend
Just happens to like your crush

Sometimes even other kids
Make your life complicated
You may try to just fit in
You may try to not be hated

Then the teachers can bug us too
Like when they make a joke
Then they begin to laugh,
But sounds like their about to choke

And sitting alone in one big seat
On one big giant bus
While these don't seem to be so bad
They mean the most to us
